Coupler Troubles
As Jason described in the latest issue of the Rapido Telegraph, some of our first run of N scale cars had couplers that stayed open. This was because of an ejector pin mark inside our coupler boxes. We've now retooled our coupler boxes and fixed the problem.
We will provide our new coupler boxes, free of charge, to anyone who needs them. All you need to do is send us a stamped, self-addressed envelope with a note telling us how many boxes you need.
If you have already purchased your own Micro-Trains couplers and boxes to replace ours, you can still benefit. Return our own couplers and boxes back to us along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope and we will send you a complimentary pack of 4 replacement batteries for your car's interior lighting. If you send us one or two pairs, you'll get one battery pack. If you send us three or more, you'll get two. The limit is two battery packs per customer. Each battery pack has a $9.95 retail value.

When we first brought out our HO scale cars there were some teething troubles, and we worked through them. I thank our N scale customers for your patience as we work through our N scale teething troubles. Click here for more information on our N scale Panorama Line passenger cars.
Steam Connectors
Your Panorama Line cars come with steam connectors. These are the V-shaped parts included in a polybag underneath the plastic cradle that holds your car. To install these, use CA/Super Glue to attach them under the coupler boxes. They are installed horizontally, with the connecting pipe perpendicular to the rails. Refer to the exploded diagram.
Removing the Roof
When we were testing our N scale passenger cars we found there was a gap between the roof and body. To get rid of this gap, we tightened the roof latches. The result is that the roofs on the N scale cars are more difficult to remove than the roofs on our HO scale cars.
The easiest way to remove the roof is to stick a fingernail in the seam between the roof and the end of the carbody at one end of the car. Then just pull up on the roof from that one end - the roof will eventually let go (and without a worrisome plastic-shattering noise).
The roof does become easier and easier to release as the catches wear. Obviously, this only applies to people who are using the interior lighting.
